Qdoba Photo Project’s Silent Auction

The only thing better than seeing the incredible participation within one of our latest online projects is having the honor to meet some of those that participated in person.  We had the chance to do that last night at Qdoba’s first silent auction to raise money for the Gage Acadamy of Art.

We created QdobaPhotoProject.com to showcase the immense talent that flows from the artsy community of Capitol Hill in Seattle.  Hundreds of Capitol Hill resident photographers uploaded their photos and the Seattle community as a whole was able to vote for their favorites – with the winner receiving a pretty droolworthy prize: a year’s worth of burritos from Qdoba Mexican Grill!  The space above Qdoba in the Capitol Hill neighborhood was the site of the auction, which saw photographers and community members alike pass through purchasing art with all proceeds benefitting the Gage Acadamy of Art.  Qdoba provided a full catering bar as well as shaken agave margaritas and cerveza.

After lusting over some of the photography that was submitted, we at BT couldn’t resist copping a few for our own personal collection..

BT & Seattle Goodwill Educate Confused Freshmen

October 15th, 2010

SEATTLE – Early September, school was back in sesh’ and a whole new crop of fresh fall finds hit the racks at Goodwill just in time for the new harvest.

To celebrate, Beyond Traditional designed and built a custom mobile showcase featuring dress-forms donned in unique digs, presented in and outside of a real dorm room furnished with real Goodwill finds.

The truck took to the streets and cobblestone nooks and crannies of Seattle’s college campuses, Greek rows, and popular hangouts, schooling clueless freshmen on why their neighborhood Goodwill is the best place for quality previously loved goods.

Beyond Traditional used scrolling billboards to highlight “your missing item” (they literally cut it out of the billboard) and featured a map showing the surprisingly close distance between Seattle colleges and respective nearby Goodwill locations. Trained Brand Ambassadors distributed 5,000 coupons, many of which were promptly brought directly to the store for redemption.

This campaign is one of over a dozen unique, nontraditional executions Beyond Traditional has designed for Goodwill in its four-year partnership. Beyond Traditional was proud to recently sponsor Goodwill’s Glitter Gala this month for the third year in a row, which raised over $250,000 for its Job Training and Education programs.

September 13th, 2010

The team at Beyond Traditional is considering a coffee IV after this past weekend. Six events, six clients, six wins. Our weekend started off with a mobile tour for FSN, promoting the Seattle Mariners on our scrolling billboard vehicle. Friday night saw a video building illumination in Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood to launch Qdoba Mexican Grill’s grand opening (which is today! Visit at 527 Broadway E in Seattle.) The video we created for the campaign is below:

Saturday we were at the University of Washington’s Husky Stadium with American Family Insurance for an enter to win contest to see Huskies play at USC, and Saturday night took us back up to Capitol Hill for our 2nd night of video illuminations.

Sunday was all hands on deck at the Seahawks’ Qwest Stadium in Seattle for the 1st 12th Fan VIP Tailgating Experience for Qdoba. To view more photos of this amazing experience, click here. To enter to win it for yourself, visit QdobaTailgate.com!

Here’s to next weekend…

The team at Beyond Traditional (formerly GoMobile) is gearing up for a jam-packed weekend, where we’re runThe BT Crewning four (count ‘em, four!) events. Keep on the lookout for the Goodwill mobile, touring around Seattle this weekend. Wing Dome’s being talked about in the West Seattle Herald in preparation for their grand opening coming soon (visit our microsite for more information), look for us at the Capital Hill Block Party with our client Qdoba, opening a new restaurant there in September, and finally – remember to vote for Leonard and look for us at the Mariners/Sounders games this weekend and on Alki Beach!

In the meantime… we still found time to celebrate our Creative Director, Ryan Moss’ birthday at our new local hangout, Hooverville where we used paper towels for cake plates and ate Sodo Pizza and …things of this photo’s nature.

P.S. Yes, we take our Washington pride very seriously.  Note the Washington Apple shots.  Jealous?

For our campaign with Qdoba Mexican Grill and their new Mini Street Taco product, we took an old, rusted vehicle and gave it a new life as a shiny and authentic Street Taco Truck ready to hit the road for a mobile tour! The overhaul included replacement of the entire interior including all pipes, fixtures, flooring and siding, as well as a completely hand-painted exterior which featured traditional Mexican bougainvillea flowers winding around the rear of the vehicle and large hand-painted Street Taco logos. We also designed and produced the exterior set surrounding the vehicle, including lighting, painted signs, custom finished tables and chairs and more.

For where the Street Taco Truck will be next, plus more photos and videos of our free taco events, visit The Street Taco Truck’s Facebook and Twitter pages!
