The Seattle Convention and Visitors Bureau (in partnership with Copacino+Fujikado) came to us looking for a creative mobile solution to draw in local-ish Canadians and Portlanders to the city for the holidays. Being that BT headquarters is located in the beautiful city of Seattle, we pulled out our thinking caps… and put down our coffee, tech jackets and non-existent umbrellas (who needs ‘em?) to design a campaign that tapped into the feeling that being in Seattle during the holidays brings to millions of people each year.
Beyond Traditional designed, engineered and built a supersized glass-walled snow globe featuring the Space Needle, PNB’s Nutcracker, and an entire city skyline that guests could physically walk around and explore! The vehicle traveled around the Pacific Northwest, flanked by a BT-trained staff that acted as Seattle tour guides, giving out-of-towners the inside scoop on the best attractions in Seattle during the holidays.
In just three weeks, the mobile snow globe made 5 stops from Vancouver B.C., to Portland, OR to Spokane, WA, distributing thousands of event guides, branded candy canes and spreading Seattle holiday cheer, and Seattle hotels reported higher occupation rates shortly after our tour wrapped.
