The famous KFC brand incites images of buckets of golden wings, thighs, and memories of classic “who gets the drumstick?” family feuds. But KFC’s menu is much more varied than their classic fried chicken, and to launch innovative new products nationally, KFC trusted Beyond Traditional to design and execute mobile tours that made mouths water…all the way to their restaurants.
We had a big idea… literally. Beyond Traditional designed and produced a supersized 6-foot wide Chicken & Biscuit Bowl and displayed it inside our glass-walled 3D showroom, which we routed on a custom traffic plan designed to hit targeted zip codes. We used Bluetooth technology to send out coupons to cell phones around the vehicle to drive traffic in-store. Fifteen scrolling billboards intermittently used on the vehicle promoted flavors of Chicken Bowl, while Segway teams, dressed in KFC uniforms, distributed fan cards at sporting events with coupons on the back.
