Content is king on the first day of IWNY 2011
Laptops. Mobile phones. Tablets. If it had a screen, it was glowing today, as this year's Internet Week kicked off in the heart of New York City.
Hundreds of tech-savvy attendees streamed through IWNY headquarters to check out the latest in digital from the biggest names in the industry. Front and center was “Yahoo! Studios,” featuring content (and cute swag) from all our #1 content properties, including Yahoo! Finance, News, omg! and Sports. Hosts from The Thread, The Daily Ticker and Breakout even stopped by the stage to do a little live filming on stage and announce the Monday winner of a HTC Flyer.
Knowing Mondays aren’t always so sweet, Yahoo! also treated Internet Week attendees to a mid-day snack break. With the help of Sweetery NYC, Zagat's highest rated NYC mobile food truck, we gave away 1,000 tasty (and purple) whoopie pies. Don’t worry if you missed out today: the Sweetery NYC truck will be back on site in the morning. Yahoo! truly has your content and sugar needs covered this Internet Week.
