BT & QDOBA ENLIST CAPITOL HILL TALENT

Along with possessing incomprehensible street design and a surprisingly large number of bucket drummers, Seattle's Capitol Hill neighborhood also houses some of the most talented artists in the city.

In an effort to connect with this talented community, introduce Qdoba's newest restaurant to the area, and simultaneously support a good cause, Beyond Traditional created Qdoba Photo Project, a campaign dedicated to collecting and celebrating some of the best local photography from Capitol Hill.

Through QdobaPhotoProject.com, Capitol Hill photographers are able to submit their photography and campaign for votes from the community through Facebook and Twitter.  Locals can vote on their favorites, and each quarter a silent auction brings the community together to auction off the local art.  All proceeds from the auction will directly fund the Youth Programs at Gage Academy of Art, a local, non-profit visual arts school.  Our first quarterly contest saw hundreds of photos entered and tens of thousands of votes from the Seattle community.  Check out our blog for photos and details from past silent auctions.

Each quarter's contest winner is featured in Qdoba's Capitol Hill location and, perhaps equally enticing, will receive one year's worth of free burritos from Qdoba!  For more information, visit qdobaphotoproject.com

GIVING GROUND-LEVEL HYPE A DIGITAL DESTINATION

With more than 50 locations scattered across six of the world's seven continents (none in Antarctica....yet), the SAE Institute is one of the world's largest providers of education in the artistic technological arts.

In preparation of their Open House on February 26th in Miami, Atlanta, and L.A., Beyond Traditional designed a campaign to build hype and pack the house at each campus.  Staying true to our digital/tangible mantra, we designed wild postings that feature hand drawn illustrations specific to each market with Facebook links that drive potential students online to a custom app where they can RSVP on the spot (even their mobile device!).  We encouraged students to RSVP using the Facebook app by creating a sweet incentive - the chance to win a pair of Ultrasone HFI450 headphones!  To additionally support the Open House, we launched a massive Facebook ad campaign to drive students to SAE's pages for information.

D.R. HORTON TAKES THE LEAD IN WASHINGTON

D.R. Horton is the largest home builder in America, and with over 20 communities in the Puget Sound area, the largest in Washington state as well  And while the national trend for home builders is currently focused on cutting spending, D.R. Horton is cementing their place as a leader by unveiling an ad campaign designed to demonstrate stability nationally while connecting with locals through the primary message, "You Are Here.  We Are Everywhere."

As D.R. Horton's agency of record, Beyond Traditional took the iconic image of a pin and map to demonstrate their massive presence in the Puget Sound area.  Utilizing this idea, Beyond Traditional produced media that utilized the traditional mediums of TV, radio, and billboard placements across Washington, as well as a mobile vehicle and a custom-designed website to help consumers find one of the hundreds of Horton homes in the area.  All of these efforts helped communicate to Washingtonians that their new home really is closer than they think.

The long term campaign which began in January will be managed exclusively by Beyond Traditional, with new TV, radio, and outdoor ads scheduled to roll out monthly.

This new campaign provides further evidence that Beyond Traditional can produce excellent work in traditional mediums -- TV, radio, print, etc -- in addition to the creative, non-traditional work that has made us an industry name.

Stadium and In-Store Challenges

For locals who couldn't make it to a game, a custom-designed website allows users to compete with one another in three separate challenges; the "loser" of each challenge will receive a printable coupon with which to provide the winner their spoils, in this case a free entree at any Qdoba restaurant.  In-store displays, seen above, rounded out our campaign by allowing Qdoba patrons to turn their post-burrito tinfoil balls into opportunities to impress with "nothin' but can' trick shots.  Winning never felt so delicious.
